The Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties to the Ondo state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Comrade Taiye Bola has charged Christians to embrace the special season of Easter to pray to God for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria.
Also, he urged Christians, especially Nigerian Christians to emulate Jesus Christ who is the central character of the Christian faith. He admonished them to emulate Jesus' humility, selflessness, gentleness, cheerfulness, prayerfulness, peacefulness, respectfulness, sacrifice and other impeccable lessons demonstrated by the immaculate life of Jesus.
Celebrating Easter with Christians, Comrade Taiye Bola in a statement issued by him and obtained by Newsline NG penned the call for prayer for Nigeria and the need for Christians to emulate Jesus Christ.
Highlighting the alarmingly worrisome spike in the level of insecurity in Nigeria, Comrade Taiye encouraged Christians to pray for Nigeria, beg God to restore peace, love and unity, which will foster growth and development in the the country.
He said "In the spirit of peace and sacrifice demonstrated through the birth, journey, restitutional death and miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ, I celebrate the 2025 Easter with the Nigerian Christians and Christians around the world.
"The sinless life of Jesus Christ teaches us humility, selflessness, gentleness, cheerfulness, prayerfulness, peacefulness, respectfulness, sacrifice by giving himself up for the sins of the whole world and other impeccable lessons demonstrated by the immaculate life of Jesus, I urge every Christian to emulate him, both in words and character— he is a perfect model for a progressive society and a pathway to God.
"I also appeal to the Christians in Nigeria to utilize this special season of Easter to pray for Nigeria. Pray to God to restore our peace, fight our battles and heal our land. Our land is bleeding, and one of the purpose of the death and resurrection of Christ is the assurance of victory."
