A stellar panel of distinguished discussants at the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women currently holding in New York, USA is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 17, 2025
Newsline NG learnt that the international event Captioned "No Woman, No Peace! -A Global Appraisal of the Role of Gender in Peace and Security” will be graced by the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Hon. Justice Olusegun Odusola, Her Royal Highness Olori Olufunmilayo Ajibola-Oluyede among others erudite discussants with the likes of Professor Lady Ingrid Detter De Frankopan, author of “The Law of War” and advisor to Pope John Paul II; Dr. Nancy K. Stafford, Past Chair, American Bar Association International Law Section; Abbey Ogunwale PhD
Others included: Vice President, One Earth Future Foundation, UNA-NCA; Prof. Joy Ezeilo, SAN, Activist, Former UN Special Rapporteur on Human Trafficking; Robert J. Gaudet, International Human Rights/Class Action Attorney, USA and Professor B. Alloh, Dean, Faculty of Law, DELSU.
Speaking with journalists at the precincts of the United Nations headquarters in New York, the initiator of this much-anticipated program, HRH Olori Olufunmi Ajibola-Oluyede stated that “..these eminent legal experts have been specially designated to re-evaluate the efficacy of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 in addressing the pivotal role of women in conflict management, peace negotiations and sustainable world peace, with a view to proffering enduring solutions of global significance in its appropriate execution universally”.
For maximal global impact, the amiable, renowned queen has also brought together leading world organizations of legal professionals as event sponsors/collaborating entities, along with prominent hosts/facilitators from around the globe.
These facilitators include Jennifer Bishop Esq, current Chair of the International Bar Association Women Lawyers Committee; Renee Dopplick Esq., Council Member, American Bar Association International Law Section; Mandy D.
