The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has confirmed its rating as one of the dependable partners of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme.
The confirmation was further established as the Assistant Director, Ibadan Zonal Office, Engineer Akanbi Akinwale, on behalf of the Commission donated food items worth several thousands of naira to supplement the feeding of corps members.
Making the donation shortly after the lecture of the regulatory agency to the 2024 Batch 'C' (Stream II) Corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko, Engineer Akinwale disclosed that the donation was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the noble Scheme.
In his words, the National Youth Service Corps Scheme is a programme that has bonded various ethnic groups that made up the country and has remained a laudable programme that has put the country on the global map in terms of youth development.
"This is our own small way of identifying with and assisting the National Youth Service Corps to achieve its mandate to the teeming Nigerian graduate youths, and we are happy to contribute our widows mite towards making the camp enjoyable for members of the service corps. At Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), we know the challenging tasks that are before you, and we are willing and ready to make little sacrifice to support you" he said.
Receiving the food items, which included 2 bags of rice, 1 keg of vegetable oil, 4 cartons of noodles, sphagetti and tomato paste, the elated State Coordinator, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare applauded the NCC for identifying with the Scheme at this critical period.
"I want to express my deep gratitude and appreciation, on behalf of NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, DSS, fdc, fnli, FTRCN, MNARC, PhD, management, staff and entire corps members deployed to Ondo State and their counterparts dislodged from Lagos State to the Chairman and members of the Nigerian Communications Commission for this show of love, and I want to assure you that your donation will be used for intended purpose".
