The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Ondo State Chapter, has extended its warmest congratulations to the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his Deputy, Chief Olayide Adelami on their inauguration as the 7th Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of the state.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the association in the state, Mr Sunday Afolayan stated that this historic moment would be the beginning of a new era of progress, development and inclusive governance in the sunshine state, which promises to usher in a season of ease and peace for all.
According to him, Aiyedatiwa's visionary leadership, dedication to public service and commitment to the welfare of the people have earned him the trust and confidence of the good people of Ondo State, saying his administration will bring sustainable growth and transformation to all sectors of the state.
"As you and your deputy officially assume office, we acknowledge the enormous responsibility that rests on your shoulders and we pray for divine wisdom, strength and success in fulfilling these mandates to the people of Ondo State.
May you remain focused, committed, and resolute in your pursuit of excellence and service to our state", the statement read in part.
Afolayan charged the Governor to prioritize the welfare and well-being of the people, particularly in areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic development.
While assuring that ANA would be willing to collaborate with his administration to promote reading culture and creative arts through literature, he expressed that the state portends opportunities to remain a leading light in the country in terms is education and technological developments if the enormous human and material resources of the state are maximally explored.
While calling on the people, especially members of the opposition parties to join hands with the Governor, the writer and journalism lecturer explained that cooperation with the new administration remains the only panacea to the various challenges confronting the state, emphasising that this new chapter will usher in a season of ease amd progress for all and stressed that every successful and impactful governance is a product of collective responsibility of both the government and the citizens.
