Nysc Ondo Coord lauds INEC, ICCES Members

The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and members of Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) for the proactivity and painstaking efficiency deployed during the conduct of the last gubernatorial election in the State.

The State Coordinator made this remark during the quarterly ICCES meeting held at the INEC State Office, Akure, the state capital.

Bakare, who appreciated the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Oluwatoyin Babalola for the professional manner she handled the electoral duties, reiterated the confidence reposed on the Independent National Electoral Commission by admitting that the welfare of corps members were promptly attended to, even till the last minute of the exercise.

She hinted that though some pockets of violence were witnessed in Idanre Local Government, the prompt response of the security personnel was timely in stemming it from escalating.

The NYSC Ondo State boss attributed the success of the election to the cooperation, synergy and collaboration of members of the ICCES, which paved way for seamless interaction before, during and after the election.

In her opening remarks, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Oluwatoyin Babalola, on behalf of the co-chair of ICCES, extended the Commission's appreciation to all members for their invaluable contributions in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the election held on the 16th November, 2024.

Babalola affirmed that the success is a direct result of the commitment, professionalism and synergy demonstrated by ICCES members.

She, however, advised that members should not bask in the euphoria yet, but rather stay ahead through sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing and continuous capacity building as future elections will undoubtedly present new challenges.
