New Ondo State coord meets staff, harps on virtues of Public servant



The new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare has advised members of staff to uphold the virtues expected of a public servant.

The State Coordinator gave the admonition while presiding over the maiden meeting with the generality of staff, which was held at the NYSC Akure Zonal Office located along Oda road within the state capital.

Bakare, who listed the virtues to include punctuality, hard work, discipline, effective service delivery, maintaining a high degree of integrity and honesty, urged them to enhance the corporate image of the Scheme at all times.

The new helmsman of NYSC in Ondo State, while saying that she recognised the exemplary reputation of the staff, hinted that she was looking forward to witnessing professionalism and dedication of the workforce

"My distinguished brothers and sisters, I am honoured to join this esteemed team and appreciate the warm reception. As we embark on this new journey together, I want to let you know that your expertise is vital to our collective success".

She continued, 'I acknowledge Ondo team remarkable energy and work ethics. Let's continue to strive for excellence. Let us cultivate the culture of collaboration, innovation and transparency, as these will propel our collective progress'.

The Coordinator appealed to staff who have questions or concerns regarding their schedules or assignments to get in touch with the Heads of their respective Branches and Units, saying that they possessed requisite knowledge to offer guidance and support.


The NYSC Ondo State boss intimated the staff that she has vowed to run open door policy, thus encouraging them to promote teamwork and effective communication to aid service delivery.

She insisted that policy thrust must be interpreted with clear conscience and shared responsibility so that NYSC Ondo State will continue to retain her place of pride among the sister Secretariats.

All the Heads of Branches and Units, as well as Zonal Inspectors gave brief on their respective assignments while the meeting came to an end with a call to all the staff, especially the field officers to treat welfare and health matters of corps members with precision and utmost priority.
