Your Excelency, we humbly wish to invite your passionate urgent attention to our plight of backlog salary arrears of 28 months owned the disengaged workers of Ondo State Afforestation Project in Ondo South Senatorial District, Lisagbede Ore.

Several “Save our Soul” (SOS) letters was written to former Governor Late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu when he was the Governor of Ondo State and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry concerning our backlog salary arrears of 28 months owned us by the State Government uptill now no positive result was achieved.

In 2017 Ondo State Government signed conceesion Agreement on sustainable Forestry management & exploitation of Ondo State Afforestation Project with investor West Africa Forest plantation Limited (WAFPL).

Our appointment was terminated and we were all disengaged from the service without payment of 28 months backlog salary arrears owned us by the State Government. In 2021 the State Government also signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with another Investor named Rex Forestry Limited (RFI).

Also in August, 2022, the State Government appointed some members of committee for sale of unserviceable items including the Ministry officials, we disagreed on sale of unserviceable item, they promised us that the backlog of outstanding salaries would be included in 2023 Appropriate Budget, as at today we are writing this leter no positive thing have been done by the Ministry. As a law abiding citizen, we believe in the Caring Heart of this Present Administration, we do not believe in putting law into our Hand before we could press for our right.
