The Sports, Awards and Youths Development Sub-committee of the 2024 Igogo Ekiti Day Central Organising Committee hereby calls on students of Igogo Ekiti origin, currently undergoing MBBS (Medicine and Surgery), BSc (Nursing) in any Nigerian university and RNS (Nursing/Midwifery) in a recognised School of Nursing, to apply for a newly instituted scholarship award.
The award, to be presented to deserving candidates during the upcoming Igogo Ekiti Day celebrations, was instituted by the Fola Abolarin Foundation, to motivate candidates undergoing medical courses by granting them financial assistance in their areas of study.
Mr Abidemi Victor Abolarin, who announced this from Canada recently, stated that he instituted the award to immortalise his late father Fola Abolarinde Ojo, who was, until his death, a foremost medical practitioner, politician and philanthropist in Ekiti State and championed many developmental projects in Igogo Ekiti such as electrification project in the 80s and the historic creation of Ekiti State.
Interested candidates should submit a written evidence with the last GPA, duly signed & stamped by the Head of Department to the office of Education Secretary, Moba LGA Edu. Office, Otun Ekiti, not later than 31/August/2024.
