Gov. Makinde felicitates Oyo corps members, tasks them to be of good behavior




The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has said that the National Youth Service Corps is a reliable Scheme which has transcended ethnic loyalty and over the years form the basis for fostering national unity and integration among Nigerians. 

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke stated this while delivering his address at the Swearing-in ceremony of Corps members mobilised to Oyo for the 2024 Batch B stream 1 orientation course at Oyo State NYSC Permanent Orientation camp, Iseyin.

Governor Makinde congratulated the Corps members for the successful completion of their academic journey from their respective institutions which qualifies them for national service. 

He urged them to sustain the tempo of their well-deserved achievement and make the best of it for the attainment of their aspirations. 

He urged Corps members to properly utilise the opportunities offered by the orientation course such as the physical drills and the intellectual activities designed for them to become a better version of themselves. 

Makinde expressed confidence in the hospitable nature of the people of Oyo State and reiterated his administration’s unrelenting commitment towards Corps members' welfare. 

The Chairman, NYSC Governing Board, Oyo State who was represented by the Director of Youth Development, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alhaja Kudirat Mustapha in her welcome address encouraged Corps members to be of good behaviour and abide by all camp rules and ensure active participation in all camp activities.


Earlier, the State Coordinator NYSC Oyo, Comrade Odoba Abel Oche commended the Governor of Oyo State for always treating issues concerning NYSC with utmost priority. 

He assured Corps members of the commitment of the camp officials to make their stay on camp a memorable one.

He charged them to make use of the opportunity NYSC has put in place to acquire skills through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme. 


He said whatever skills they learn  would add value to their status and certificate.He therefore enjoined the Corps members to participate actively in the programme while in camp and post camp.
