Man, 28, arraigned for allegedly stealing motorcycle

A 28-year-old man, Ajibola Abayomi, on Thursday appeared before a Grade A Customary Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.

Abayomi, whose address was not provided, is charged with conspiracy and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 17, at 10. a.m., at Eleyele, Ibadan.

Amusan alleged that the defendant and others at large stole a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle worth N269,000.

He said that the motorcycle belonged to DOT Asset Finance Company in Ibadan.

Amusan said that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. Aworemi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until April 9 for hearing. (NAN)
