Newsline NG learnt that Dr. Bayo Ilawole, the Administrative Secretary, Ondo State Local Government Commission was honoured with an outstanding public service award for 2023 alongside Ondo State Finance Commissioner Mr Wale Akinterinwa.
The epoch making event in a public lecture tagged " Turning Ondo State into the Leading Economic Hub Of Southwest Nigeria:The Expected Roles Of all stakeholders was held at Blissworld Hotel, ljapo, Akure.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Gbenga Abimbola while commending the reputable Magazine for the award, stressed the need for Economic Hub in Ondo state.
His words "Turning ondo state into Leading Economic hub of southwest, He also Highlighted reasons why Governorship aspirants should revisit the 159 pages of roadmap booked launched by Gov. Olusegun Agagu and reupdate it.
Newsline NG however gathered that the awardee, Dr. Bayo Ilawole (Ph.D) is a luminary philosopher, consummate administrator, and multifaceted virtuoso who emerged into existence approximately 54 orbits ago in the vibrant city of Lagos,but hailed from the Riverine Community of Ondo State
According to hie citation, he started to his educational path in Ondo State at Methodist High School, Okitipupa, finishing in 1986. Subsequently, he pursued higher education at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, from 1986 to 1992, earning both NCE and B.Ed. in 1992.
"Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, he ascended the scholarly summit with a Master's in Public Administration from the venerable Obafemi Awolowo University in 2000, expanding his cognitive horizons with a Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Economics and Extension from the Federal University of Technology (FUTA) in 2005. Dr. Ilawole further adorned his academic tapestry with a Master in Agricultural Policy and Administration from the esteemed University of Ibadan in 2009, a Master of Science in Public Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2011, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Theology from RCBC in 2012.
"His intellectual magnum opus unfolded with the conferral of a Doctorate in Philosophy in Public Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 2014, followed by another illustrious Ph.D. in Leadership and Corporate Governance from the Institute of Leadership, Manpower, and Management Development in 2021.
"A seasoned lecturer and facilitator, Dr. Ilawole has graced various personnel training institutes, leaving an indelible mark in the realms of knowledge dissemination. For two decades, from 1994 to 2014, he presided over the realms of Agriculture and Natural Resources in various Local Governments of Ondo State, eventually ascending to the prestigious position of Head of Local Government Administration in the Ondo State Local Government Service Commission in 2014.
"His administrative prowess continued to flourish as he assumed the role of Director of Training and Manpower Development from 2014 to 2016. A beacon of positive impact, Dr. Ilawole has traversed multiple Local Governments, leaving an indomitable legacy. His latest triumph is the distinguished role of HOLGA of Akoko North East Local Government, Ikare Akoko, where he previously acted as the SOLAD of Akoko North East, Ikare Akoko, before his recent elevation to the esteemed position of Administrative Secretary at the Ondo State Local Government Service Commission.
"A polymath and an exemplar of erudition, Dr. Ilawole's contributions extend beyond academia, as reflected in his fellowships: Fellow, Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administrators (FIICA) in 2015, Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FICA) in 2015, Fellow, Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria (FCAI) in 2014, and Distinguished Fellow, Institute of Leadership, Manpower, and Management Development (DFILMMD) in 2021.
