The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has admonished corps members to put to practice all what they have learnt during the service year.
The State Coordinator gave the admonition in her farewell address to the out-going 2023 Batch 'A' (Stream 1) corps members who have just completed the mandatory one year service to the fatherland.
Speaking at the low key event at the Akure Zonal Office where passing out corps members from Akure South Local Government converged for the programme, Mrs. Ani said that they can only be relevant in the larger society if they allow the objectives of the Scheme to guide them.
"Distinguished Gentlemen Corps Members, I rejoice with you today because you came, you saw and you have conquered. Try always to live by the objectives of the Scheme which is to develop a new country where everyone will live happily ever as brothers and sisters in an atmosphere devoid of hate or mutual suspicion. With your contact with the laudable Scheme, you have been exposed to the ways of life and cultural values of all the entity that made up the nation and this will assist you greatly to appreciate the founding fathers for the sacrifice they made to keep Nigeria one".
She said that various communities they impacted will not forget their selfless service, encouraging them to preach love and unity which she believed have been sustaining the Scheme since it was established 50 years ago.
"NYSC remains the standpoint in the country where love is expressed without inhibition. Beginning with the orientation course, we paired you on the same bed but from different geopolitical zones and throughout the service year, you were knitted together as indivisible entity. Be an advocate where unity and integration of this country will continue to be sacrosanct so that the binding chord of one Nigeria will keep us together".
The NYSC Ondo State boss in wishing them well in their future endeavours, charged them to put the country first in all what they do so that when responsibilities are thrusted upon their shoulders, they will perform creditably well.
The State Coordinator opined that they can still come together mutually with the aim of bettering the lots of people in the society saying that NYSC has taught them to be compassionate on fellow human beings irrespective of backgrounds they come from.
About 1200 corps members who passed out of the service were enlisted in the noble Scheme a year ago.
