Ekiti: Futa Alumni Association inaugurates new executives

The Ekiti state branch of the FUTA Alumni Association on Saturday, 9th December, 2023 elected new executives to oversee the affairs of the new executives to commemorate the signing out of Comrade Samuel Omoniyi Ojo led administration.

The event which was held at the VIP lounge of the Fajuyi Memorial Park saw Dr Tolulope Agbele emerge as the new branch chairman has in attendance alumni from across the state witness the executives take the oath of allegiance as led by the Barrister on sight to administer the oath.

Executives of the association who were earlier screened during the week, had the opportunity to showcase their intentions and all pledged to work in unity to foster the growth of the Ekiti branch of the FUTA alumni body.

In his acceptance speech, Dr Tolulope Agbele a seasoned scholar and a lecturer at the Bamidele Olumilua University of Science and Technology Ikere Ekiti, appreciated the members for the trust imposed in him to have elected him and promised to reach out to members to come together to form a formidable branch and promised to work on sustaining the achievements and improve the sustainability of peace and unity of the members.

In his reaction, an alumnus, Dr Eluwole, Acting HOD of the Geophysics department at the Federal University Oye Ekiti, reiterated the trust he has in the capacity of the newly elected executives, saying FUTA is a citadel of learning that has produced great minds and has no doubt the executives we consolidate on the achievements of the past administration 

He however encouraged the new team to work harmoniously to achieve great feats, stating that the branch has a good representation at the national level, as the General Secretary Elect and Treasurer Elect.

Comrade Samuel Omoniyi Ojo, the immediate past and pioneer Chairman of the State branch, at the just concluded FUTA Alumni convention was elected as the General Secretary of the association, enumerated the achievements of his led administration to be; scholarships to indigent students of the citadel of learning, reaching out to the Institution in terms of support to infrastructure developments, the ability to bring members together and form a team as well as the smooth transition of his administration to the new executives.

He however called on the leadership of the institution through its Vice Chancellor to be friendly to students, as well as arrange a seminar to sensitize lecturers on the need to be friendly with the lecturers, so they can give back to the university system.



Inaugurated at the venue as a member of the executive are; Dr Tolulope Agbele; Chairman, Comrade Adeola Adeleke; Vice Chairman, Comrade Ojambati Victor; General Secretary, Comrade Olalekan Asebioge; Treasurer, Comrade Omotola Farotimi; Financial Secretary, Comrade Kemi Obayemi; Welfare, Comrade Oloketuyi Opeyemi; Auditor and Comrade Nifesimi Ogungbe as the Public Relations Officer.
