A non-governmental organisation in Nigeria, University of the Third Age (U3A) is set to celebrate its 50th Anniversary in grandstyle
Newsline NG learnt that the anniversary with the theme"Towards A Dynamic U3A, lifelong Learning Initiative" will commence January, 30 to 31, 2024 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Speaking with Newsline NG, the President U3A Nigeria, Prof. Charles Israel Afolabi said the anniversary is to celebrate the organization since inception.
His words, "It is U3A the Parent Body in France that will celebrate it's 50th Anniversary (1973-2023).
"U3A Nigeria is approved to host the Event on behalf of Africa in Lagos Nigeria on January 30 and 31, 2024.
"The Event will take place in 7 Countries around the World which has started from Australia, Turkey, Chile, now in Nigeria in January, 2024, in France, May ,2024, then in China and in Tunisia to round it up.
"People around Africa and around the World will participate in the Event in Nigeria come January, 2024. It is hoped that, the Chairman of ECOWAS who doubles as The President of Nigeria , Senator Bola Tinubu will Grace the occasion with many Dignitaries and Members of the Diplomatic Corps in Nigeria.
"My Team and I are set to make the Celebration a memorable occasion not only for Nigeria but for Africa the Continent saddled for the Celebration.
Prof. Afolabi Charles Israel. JP however enjoined everyone to join them in the celebrating the Golden Jubilee.
