FUOYE Holds Training workshop, set to immortalize Late Miss Ayanda Modupe

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Professor Tajudeen Bolanle Opoola has said, the Management of the institution under the leadership of Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina is ready to immortalize Late Miss Ayanda Modupe of the Nursing Department 

Newsline NG learnt that a Twin Lecture Theater hall in Phase 3 of the ivory tower will be named after the deceased. 

Professor Opoola disclosed this while delivering his opening address in a day training workshop organized by the Directorate of Counseling and Human Development center on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Faculty of Social Sciences hall of the institution. 

The Vice-Chancellor who was represented by the DVC admin said, Modupe Atanda will be immortalised in honour of her passion, and dedication to education in the university before some unscrupulous persons eliminated her life 

In his Opening Address, The Director, the Counseling and Human Development Centre, Professor Benjamin Omolayo, while welcoming staff and resource persons to the event, noted that the motive behind the training workshop is for counselors to update their skills adding that the training will allow them to be equipped for the task ahead.

"The 2023/2024 academic session has commenced, it's very germane we train our staff for the task ahead. At the end of this training,  Counsellors would be able to achieve the best modification method and be well equipped for the skills needed for counseling our students and staff in the university.

The Professor of Psychology further said this is the second training workshop since he assumed office as the director. He, however, thanked the university management for support for the directoratete 

Also Speaking at the training workshop,  Dr. C.B. Obasoro presented a paper on Effective Usage of Psychological Tests and Proper Documentation of Counseling Session

Also, the CEO of Kids and Teens Resource Centre,  Martin-Mary Falana, presented a paper via Zoom on the topic,  Counseling Skills for Valuable and Effective Counsellor-Counsellee Relationship.
