The Iyaloja general of Oyo State, Arabinrin (Princess) Folasade Azeezat Abeo Nurudeen has enjoined 2023 Batch’B’ Stream two Corps members currently undergoing their Orientation Course at the Oyo State NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin, to learn the skills that will equip them and be determined to be employers of labour if they want to escape poverty.
She gave the admonition during her motivational speech when she paid a visit to the Camp. Relating her story with them, she described herself as having risen from a very humble background to a position where she is making impact in the society and leading a very contented life.
An Entrepreneur who is into gold merchandise and Fashion business told the Corps members that she started her gold business with two hundred and and fifty thousand naira (#250,000).
She narrated how she worked assiduously until the business grew large enough to earn her the Iyaloja General of Oyo State by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi Aláà fin III.
Princess Folashade who has continued to make her mark in the business world, therefore implored the Corps Members not to despise a little beginning, rather be dedicated, focused, and persevere in all what they do so as to realize their dreams.
Speaking on the atmosphere of the Camp, the Princess who is also the Southwest Coordinator for the Market Traders Association of Nigeria (MATAN),expressed her satisfaction about the impeccably neat and serene environment of the Orientation Camp, noting that the NYSC Oyo management has done a very great and wonderful job of taking care of the teeming Corps members posted to Oyo State.
Princess Folashade who said that she had visited other Orientation Camps, observed that Oyo stands out of them all. She therefore showered prayers on the management of the NYSC Oyo led by Mr. Odoba Abel Oche.
Welcoming the Princess, the Oyo State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Odoba Abel Oche expressed joy at receiving the Iyaloja at the camp.He said she was purposely invited so as to be a source of inspiration to the Corps Members.
The SC who intimated her about the just mobilized Corps Members deployed to the pace setter state and Lagos and undergoing the Orientation Course, noted that Oyo State is one of the best state and has the best camp throughout the federation.
He equally quickly pointed out that Oyo State is the only State which holds the welfare and well-being of Corps Members in high esteem.
"We are very grateful to the State government under His Excellency, Gov. Seyi Makinde.We have nothing else to do than to propagate the generosity of the State Government. The people are very hospitable, they don't discriminate irrespective of your religion or tribe".
Odoba further used the opportunity to discuss the management's effort to build a 3000 capacity hall to make the young graduates comfortable when attending lectures.
He expressed the roadwork of the management team in preparing the Corps members to make positive impact in Oyo State.
The highpoint of the visit of the Iyaloja was the inspection of the arts and crafts made by Corps members to mark the completion of the 10 -day In-Camp training of the SAED programme.
The Princess equally promised on behalf of her association to donate 500 bags of cement to support the building of the 3000 capacity multipurpose hall going on at the Orientation Camp.
She also promised to mobilise well meaning Oyo State Indigenes to support the building project.
The Iyaloja General was treated to a rich cultural display by the NYSC cultural troupe.
