PROFILE OF MR FIDELIS DAVID
Fidelis David is a Journalist, Feature Writer, Polemicist and a Public Relations Officer, who loves making personal effort to achieving a progressive support at all level and to help team work, which in turn, will help boost good performance.
Fidelis David hails from Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State.He was born three decades ago to the family of Mr and Mrs Fidelis Okpagu in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.
SCHOOLS ATTENDED
Fidelis David attended Ebenezer African Church Primary School, Amudipe Street, Akure and later proceeded to United C. A. C. High School, Akure for his secondary School education.
He also attended Standard Foundation School, Benin City.
After his 5th attempt, he made his O'level results and gained admission to study Mass Communication at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, between 2011 - 2014 where he graduated with Upper Credit.
Immediately after his mandatory one year industrial training, Mr David went back to the same institution for his Higher National Diploma in 2015 and subsequently graduated in 2018 after a prolonged strike.
It will interest you to know that he opted for the broadcast option despite his love for writing and ultimately graduated with Distinction.
ACTIVITIES WHILE IN RUGIPO.
During his National Diploma days, Fidelis David served as the Public Relations Officer of the National Association of Mass Communication Students and was famous for his dexterity in publicity and news writing within and outside the campus.
At the HND level, he served as the President, Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication Studies and a pioneer member of the Council of Faculty Presidents, RUGIPO Chapter.
Also, he served as the Editor-in-chief and Vice Chairman, at RUGIPO Press Council and was a campus Journalist with the Nation Newspaper.
It is worthy of mentioning that Fidelis became famous in the campus following his dogged criticism of the school management and the students' union government of the institution, through his chronic articles and feature stories, most of which landed him in trouble several times but, you know one thing, Fidelis never stopped writing, despite attempt by authorities to silent him.
NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS (NYSC)
David served at the office of State Security Adviser to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahyah Bello between 2018-2019, and concomitantly writing for the Nation Newspaper, the Kogi state-owned Graphics Newspaper and was the Editor in Chief of the weekly KOGI KOPAS Newspaper.
Fidelis David was elected as the President of the Editorial and Publicity CDS group; a group in charge of the publicity of the activities of NYSC across the state and haven seen his proficiency in discharging his duties, he was awarded as the MOST DEDICATED CORPS MEMBER OF THE YEAR by the State coordinator of NYSC In Kogi State.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
His professional qualifications include: (1) Customers Relationship Management, OSHA Academy (2) Human Resources Management and (3) Project Management Professional.
WORK EXPERIENCE
In 2020, he was employed as a News Editor and Reporter by Breez 91.9FM Akure, a private radio station where he worked for three and half years.
In 2021, he was employed as the Ondo State Correspondent of Thisday Newspaper.
Also, Fidelis David was a Freelancer with BBC Pidgin- as well as the Nation Newspaper between 2017 -2019.
During his final year in school, he was working as a Reporter with Sunshine Daily watch Newspaper; Stockswatch Newspaper and BusinessOndo Magazine. In addition, he worked as a reporter with the Voice Magazine between 2013-2017 as well as a freelancer with Trinity Magazine between 2011-2013.
Fidelis David is the Publisher, CEO of Accurate Newspaper, an online newspaper who's principle is rooted in, in-depth news reportage and analysis, accurate and always timely.
HOBBIES : His hobbies include, writing, reading, cooking and traveling.
Besides, Fidelis is a young man of intellectual fecundity, a man with international writing prowess, a gentleman with principles, a diplomat, and has written over 1,000 articles published in local and National Newspapers in Nigeria.
