The Onigogo of Igogo Ekiti, headquarters of Ero Local Council Development Area (LCDA), His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Sunday Olusola Adewumi (JP), has charged the citizens of the area to take advantage of the newly created LCDA to foster unity and engineer accelerated development of the area.
Speaking during the bulldozing of the plot of land for the construction of the council's permanent secretariat recently, Oba Adewumi appreciated the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his support in actualising the project.
According to the monarch, the LCDA offers ample opportunities for citizens to attract industrial and recreational facilities to the area in order to engage the youths in gainful employment and modern facelift of different towns within the area.
Expressing optimism for the viability of the LCDA, Oba Adewumi lauded the commitment of the Council's Executive Chairman, Hon. Akinwale Alebiosu and his team for initiating the construction, inspite of the economic downturn ravaging the country.
Speaking earlier, the LCDA boss, Hon. Alebiosu, appreciated Governor Oyebanji and the LCDA executives for their commitment towards the progress of the council and promised to complete the site construction before the end of his tenure.
Alebiosu also expressed gratitude to Onigogo for mobilising the community to donate the massive land for the council in addition to blocks of offices already constructed on the site.
He appreciated other traditional rulers in the area for their cooperation to build the secretariat at the site.
The plot is situated at the back of the present temporary office complex of the LCDA.
Also present at the site opening were the Secretary to the Council, Hon. (Surv.) Sunday Afolayan, the Supervisor for Works and Agriculture, Hon. David Daramola, the HLA, Mr. Olaiya Rotimi, the Director of Administration, Mr Reuben Ojo, Director of Works, Engr. O. J. Alamu, Engr. Sunday Ale, Mrs O. J. Agboola, Mrs Aina, Mr Bode Bankole, among others.
