The Oyo State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Commander Olayinka Joe-Fadile paid a courtesy visit to NYSC Oyo management at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin.
Commander Fadile said the visit is in a bid to foster a stronger working relationship between the two organizations and to explore further avenues to strenghthen the pact that has been in existence before now for National development which is a common goal for both organisations.
The Oyo NDLEA boss expressed his happiness and delight in the warm reception accorded him by the NYSC Corps members, staff and management led by the State Coordinator, Comrade Odoba Abel Oche.
While appreciating the unquantifiable role of the NYSC Scheme over the years in moulding the future and destinies of young Nigerians particarly in the war againts drug abuse and the attendant ills, the Commander and top members of the agency in his entourage thanked the NYSC for creating the avenue to impart in the Corps members the message of zero tolerance to drugs and illicit substances.
The mission according to the Commander is for the corps members to propagate and distill the message of war against drug to people at the grassroots thereby making the work of the agency easier and better.
The NDLEA boss however pleaded with the NYSC management to be magnanimous in allowing Corps members who volunteered to be War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Vanguards to retain such as their Community Development Service (CDS) group when posted to their Places of Primary Assignment (PPA) throughout the State.
The State Coordinator in his response thanked the NDLEA boss for making it a point of duty to visit the NYSC in person.
He equally eulogised him for allowing his very efficient officers to Collaborate with the Scheme to train and enhance the mental capacity of Corps members, priming them to play their role in national development.
Comrade Odoba also seized the opportunity to assure the guest of continued strong working relationship and the resolve of the NYSC management to evenly distribute the WADA Vanguard trained on camp to all the Local Government Areas in the state where they can make inpact.
The highpoint of the courtesy call was the exchange of sourvenirs between the two agencies and group photographs.
