SAED: Oyo First lady commends Corps members commitment




The 2022 Batch 'A' (Stream 1) corps members deployed to Oyo State have been commended for their high level of commitment and active participation at the  SAED In- Camp training. 

The Oyo State First Lady,  Her Excellency Chief (Mrs) Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde gave the commendation at the SAED Closing/ Inter Platoon competition and exhibition at Iseyin Camp. 

In her goodwill message, Her Excellency said that from records available, the resilience and unrelenting spirit of the corps members during the 9-day 'Hands-on" training shows their readiness to become entrepreneurs and employers of labour which will help trim down the high rate of unemployment among the young graduates of our nation. 

The First Lady, who was represented by the Oyo State Commissioner for Special Duties Alhaja Fausat Sanni encouraged the corps members deployed to the State and their counterparts dislodged from Lagos State to adequately utilize the knowledge acquired from the SAED program noting that the era of guaranteed white collar job had passed in our country. 


She charged them to avail themselves the opportunities of the SAED program and learn a skill or more under the tutelage of seasoned facilitators. 

She stated it's imperative that the corps members engage their hands and creative minds to acquire wealth rather than being idle.

Further in her address, she assured the corps members that the Makinde led administration will support the NYSC Scheme in the State to ensure that SAED program thrives. 

She equally encouraged them to integrate and learn the culture of their host communities while promising them of their security and hospitality by the good people of Oyo State. 


Earlier in her welcome remark, the Oyo NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe expressed her profound appreciation to Her Excellency and the entourage for their presence at the event. Stating that it was a source of inspiration to the corps members. 

Ogbuogebe, further used the opportunity to appreciate the Oyo State government for its assistance to the Scheme while soliciting for more support to the Scheme in the State especially in the development of SAED program. 

The Ceremony which had in attendance dignitaries from the State government which include the Honorable Commissioner of Education represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Aminat Atere, top NYSC officials and collaborating agencies witnessed the presentation of prizes  to the winners of the SAED Inter platoon competition.
