Oyo corps members urged to be proud of their culture




Corps members have been advised to appreciate and imbibe each others culture, an act which fosters unity amongst tribes

The NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe gave the advice in her remark at the 2022 Batch 'A' (Stream 1) Inter Platoon Carnival /Cultural Day held at Iseyin Camp. 

She said that our cultures though different, remains a representation of our togetherness as a formidable force that will help reunite our nation. "Our cultures build bridges not wall"said the State Coordinator. 

The State Coordinator, equally encouraged the corps members to continue to uphold the ideals of the Scheme which is to promote national unity and integration. 

Stating that by learning and appreciating each others culture, the mandate ‘Unity in diversity’ will be achieved. 

She further implored them to be proud of the rich culture of our country. 


The Inter-Platoon Carnival/Cultural day had corps members showcasing the different cultures/tribes, adorned in colourful cultural attires. 


The event had Number Six Platoon showcasing Ibo culture emerging the winner while Number Eight Platoon with the Yoruba culture took the second position. The third position showcasing the Kalabari culture went to Number Five Platoon. 

The event which was well attended by officials also witnessed displays by camp officials, collaborating agencies and NYSC band. The winners of the competition were later presented with trophies.
