Schools prepares for Resumption in Oyo

After the Christmas and New year celebrations that attracted numerous spending by parents, Preparations of parents towards the resumption of their children back to school have started in many states in Nigeria. 

This is particularly so as people are often said to experience financial constraints in the beginning of the year. 

Newsline NG correspondent who monitored resumption preparation in Ibadan reports that teachers and schools' administrators were putting finishing touches to their preparations while some parents expressed concern over school fees of their children.

One of the parents, Mr Dawud Afolabi  appealed to government not to hike the petrol pump price as proposed in order not to make living more stressful to the people.

"there is no preparation other than to pray to God to provide for us. Preparation goes beyond monitary, material preparation also counts. We appealed to government not to hike the fuel pump price as being proposed"

Mr Dawud noted that there was paucity of fund everywhere

While on preparation assessment visits to some schools in Ibadan, our correspondent observed that teachers were on the ground to prepare their lesson notes and diaries  while other non teaching staff were seen sweeping the school's surroundings.

At oba Akinbiyi High school 2, Mokola, the principal, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ayodele said a staff meeting had already been arranged for adequate preparation of the teachers.

"that is why I'm in school today. We had meeting with our Zonal head yesterday. we are having meeting with our teachers today"

The situation was not different at the Shepherd Success Academic, where the staff were cleaning the tables, chairs and others sweeping the school's surroundings.

In an interview with the head mistress of the school, Mrs Bolanle James,  said parents should ensure that their children's fees were paid early enough to forestall their wards being sent away from school. 

"we appealed to parents to pay their children school fees on time before we lay them off."

Mrs James appealed to parents to prepare adequately for their children early arrival  to school for timely commencement of class work.
