“Your skills will announce your potentials“, Ondo State coord tells corps members


The State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, Ondo State, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has said that exposure to and mastery of skills will promote the potentials in individual corps members.

The State Coordinator made the statement when she drew curtain on the activities of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme for the 2021 Batch 'C' (Stream II) orientation course.

The event which featured Inter-Platoon Competition/Exhibition of what the corps members have learnt in the course of the orientation also showcased creativity and ingenuity of the members of the service corps.

Mrs. Ani said that corps members should not joke with the post-camp training but face it squarely so that what they started during the orientation course would be improved upon.

"When we started this programme, many of you were sceptical about joining any of the skill set while some were making jests of those who embraced the intervention but you will agree with me that those who heeded the clarion call are already on their way to greatness and stardom".


The NYSC Ondo State boss admonished the members of the service corps to invest their time wisely and do away with frivolities during the service year so that people from far and near will look for you to benefit from the skill that has announced you to the world".

She said that the noble Scheme has entered into agreement with credible financial institutions to avail loans, grants and credit facilities to corps members who have bankable projects.

"I want you to write bankable business proposals that will assist you to secure loans and credit facilities from financial and empowerment institutions and other allied agencies".

The Assistant Director/Head, SAED, Mrs. Itohan Ehimwenma disclosed that the competition is happening only in Ondo State and urged the corps members to upgrade their certificates for economic emancipation.

Mrs. Ehimwenma thanked all the Trainers and Facilitators for the huge sacrifice they are making into the life of graduate youths.

She did not fail to acknowledge the invaluable support of the State Coordinator and the sponsors who are always identifying and investing in the Scheme.


Competition and Exhibition was held in some skills and vocations such as Public Speaking, Fashion and Design, Gele tying, cake and confectionaries after which prizes were awarded the winners.
