Corps members have urged to use the social media wisely, by propagating peaceful coexistence of the country.
The Director General Services of National Youth Service Corps, Mr Emmanuel Danjuma Attah made this known while Addressing the 2021 Batch C Stream two corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Iseyin
He charged them to work towards the realization of the objectives of the scheme.
"The task of ensuring the continued existence of the country is one that should be of paramount interest to all well meaning Nigerians.
He therefore advised corps members to resist the temptation to join any form of agitation aimed at undermining the unity and integrity of the nation.
Mr Emmanuel Attah also seized the opportunity of his visit to officially felicitate with the corps members for a successful mobilization into the National Youth Service Corps.
He further implored them to pay special attention to Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme(SAED) , stressing that it is the only antidote for the high rate of unemployment, as it ensures that they become self reliant and employers of labour rather than job seekers.
The Director encouraged the corps members to accept their posting in good faith and emphasized on the need for them to leave an indelible mark in their host communities through the Community Development Service.
He equally cautioned them against unnecessary and late night journeys, indecent dressing and indulging in sharp practices.
He told them to break their journey whenever it's becoming late. " Do not travel at night, barracks will receive you whole heartedly " he advised.
Director, General Services, harped on the need to adhere strictly to all the covid-19 safety protocols and also advised course participants to take the advantage of the orientation and get vaccinated. " Take good care of your health and avoid self medication" he warned.
Speaking further, Mr Attah said he was impressed by the tone of discipline and cleanliness of the entire camp commended the State Coordinator and members of staff for a job well done.
He however encouraged them to sustain the tempo of team work to have a successful orientation course.
Earlier in her welcome remark, the State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe expressed appreciation to the Director for taking out time to visit the corps members and camp officials to see how they fared.
She informed him that this batch of corps members have exhibited high level of responsibility and discipline by responding to all camp activities promptly.
