A renowned People Democratic Party's stalwart and philanthropist, Sen. Bode Olajumoke was on Wednesday December 1st, honoured with an award of a Political Role Model, by the Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials and Female Political Appointees, (FOWOSO).
He was among the individuals who were recognised for their services to humanity in Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole, at the award/fundraising dinner organised by members of the foundation as part of activities for the 3rd FOWOSO Summit.
Sen. Olajumoke, a native of Imeri in Ose local government area of Ondo State, was given the award in recognition of his support for the initiative of the wife of Ondo State Governor, particularly her BeMore Empowered initiative where he sponsored about 20 girls from his constituency to participate in the 2021 BeMore Summer Bootcamp.
The Award reads: "For your contribution to the BeMore Empowered Foundation by sponsoring girls to participate in the summer Bootcamp, despite being a member of different political party platform with the Founder of the initiative".
Receiving the award on his behalf, Rtd. Justice Nelson Adeyanju appreciated the First Lady, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu for the recognition; he noted that Sen. Olajumoke is a supporter of good cause who is committed to impacting the society, regardless of tribal, religion or political affiliation.
Other awardees included; For women empowerment category, Olori Omolade Amuseghan, the Ebun Dynamics Widows Empowerment Foundation, Mrs. Folasade Sheba-Aluko, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Ademulegun-Brown, and Mrs. Iseoluwa Obolo. While Bar. Abiye Ademoyegun bagged the Most Supportive She4She award, Hon. Albert Akintoye was honoured with the Most Supportive He4She.
Sport Development award went to the Arabirin Junior Tennis club, and Mr. Isaac Afolabi CEO of Blitzik Sport, for promoting children’s interest in Tennis and basketball Sports, respectively, through annual Summer clinic, among others.
