The Rebirth Christian Artistes Association of Nigeria,RECAAN, on Saturday 4th December 2021, bestowed an award of Honour on the Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Media, Miss Mary Agidi.
She was given the award at the Musical Concert/Award presentation ceremony of the inauguration of RECAAN’s new National Executive, held at the NUP’s hall, Oda road in Akure, the state Ondo State capital.
Presenting her the award, the Chairperson of the RECAAN’s board of trustees, L/Evang. Omodudu Victoria, noted that the honour was in recognition of her laudable contributions to humanity in her little way, and her love for gospel music.
Earlier in her welcome address, the BoT Chairperson, had enjoined RECAAN members not to derail from spiritual song in the name of looking for fame and wealth; but to rather focus on the word of God.
She urged them to be heavenly-focused, not to seek help from demonic source; while charging them not to be arrogant if they’re progressing on the musical field but to rather encourage the upcoming Artistes.
Responding to the honour, Miss Agidi appreciated the association, particularly, its national President, Evang. Dr. Mrs. Sade Adeniyi, for the motivation.
She said: “I thank RECAAN for this honour; it’s a great encouragement. I really appreciate Mummy Sade Adeniyi who discovered me some years ago as a young journalist with The Hope newspaper where I always help propagating the activities of the association as a Devotion Editor. And having discovered that I also have interest in gospel music when I informed her about my recorded tracks, she has since being encouraging me not to hide my talent.
“This award of honour is a challenge for me to put my talent into use because I have six recorded songs since 2016 but I kept it in the wardrobe, I’m very happy about this, it shows God really wants me to impact the world through music. Mrs Adeniyi really displayed good quality of a virtuous woman encouraging young women”.
The newly inaugurated national executive members of RECAAN included, L/Evang. Sade Adeniyi (President), Archbishop Oluwagbenga Ajewole(VP 1), Evang. Adeola Lawrence (VP2), Evang. Olumide Abiodun (National Secretary), Pastor Stephen (National Treasurer), Pastor Odunayo Ajibola (PRO), Evang. Olasunkanmi Omotosho (Organising Sec), Evang.
