As Christians worldwide celebrate the birth of Christ, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo state and the Chief executive officer of Klick Konnect Network, Chief Dr. Alex Ajipe has congratulated the people of Ondo state and Nigerians on the joy of the season.
In his Christmas message made available to newsmen in Akure the state capital by his media Aide Solomon Adewoye, Ajipe urged Christians to reflect on the essence for which Christ came to save mankind.
Ajipe said Christmas was a reminder that we are our brother’s keepers, urging Christians to “allow ourselves to be infected by the spirit of joy this beautiful season as we mark the birth of Christ.”
He also identified the virtues epitomised by Jesus Christ as love, care, selflessness and compassion for people, especially the weak, the vulnerable and the underprivileged.
He said, “Christmas is a season that explains the depth of God’s love for mankind and exemplary sacrifice that we should emulate in our relationship with our neighbours, irrespective of status and creed.
“This season is another opportunity to increase our acts of kindness and touch the less privileged in our society.
The Emure-Owo born politician also encouraged all citizens to be grateful to God for the gift of life, and for the grace of surviving the numerous security challenges that have arisen in the outgoing year.
“Being alive to witness yet another Christmas is a great gift from God that should never be taken for granted particularly in our present realities.
Ajipe noted that the peace Ondo state is witnessing under governor Akeredolu administration can be associated with the prayers of all religions in the state and the commitment of his government to providing good governance to the people especially in the area of security.
He however advised Christians and Nigerians of other faiths to take advantage of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ to pray for peace and the sustainability of a one Nigeria free from the carnage of insecurity
As the new year is underway, Chief Ajipe prayed that the year 2022 would usher in new and fulfilled hope for residents of the State.
