Oyo Nysc: State Coordinator harps on humility




The NYSC Oyo State has sworn in 2,165 corps members for the 2021 Batch B Stream One Orientation Exercise.

The Coordinator Mrs. Grace Ogbuogebe while delivering her welcome address stated that the Prospective Corps Members  comprised 799males and 1142 females deployed to Oyo State and 100 males, 124 Females dislodged from Lagos State for the one year mandatory service.

They were charged to imbibe the spirit of humility and also  display a high sense of responsibility both in camp and at their places of primary assignment.  

Ogbuogebe who presided over the swearing in ceremony  affirmed that  possessing the singular attribute of humility will propel corps members  to the top and also grant them a hitch-free service year. 

"As young graduates,  striving to serve their fatherland with all sense of humility are automatically taking on  the task of nation building."

She informed the compatriots, that the management has put in place interesting and exciting programmes that will make their 3 weeks stay on camp memorable.

Such programs include Lectures that will keep them well informed and positively impact their lives, Sporting activities to help discover talents and Socials program to help unwind despite the regimented nature of the camp.



She requested that the SAED program which is aimed at empowering them with Skills that would boost their self-confidence and self-sufficiency should be given total concentration. 

She equally implored the corps members to avail themselves all the opportunities provided by orientation exercise. 

The State Coordinator further assured the newly sworn - in corps members of the friendly nature of the people of the  two States while encouraging them to learn from the rich cultural heritage of their host communities.

The Oyo NYSC Boss also enjoined the corps members to implement all they would have learnt during the orientation course so as to  impact on their host communities.    

She stressed on the need of strict adherence to all COVID-19 protocols while they actively participate in all camp activities.



Highlights of the event was the administration of the oath of allegiance and Sample Signing of Oath before the Chief Judge of Oyo State ably represented by Hon. Justice Moshood Abass.
