The Provost of the Adeyemi College of Education, Dr. Samuel Akinrinlola Akintunde has commended the effort of the Association of Online News Publishers in Ondo State, for their humanitarian service in feeding the public with facts about the happenings in the Society.
According to him, the Online Journalists are doing a very good job when it comes to real breaking news, and deserve to be commended.
He urged the Online Journalists to also work more to fact-check information so as to give accurate reports about the school and to the general public entirely.
“The only issue I have with online media verification of stories, most of them are always eager to break the story first and end up giving unbalanced story. If this is being adequately regulated, then no doubt, online media will serve as the best platform effectively.”
The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Hakeem Adebumiti congratulated the Provost as being one of the insider to become a provost unlike his previous predecessors.
He also commended the achievements of his administration so far and also added that the team has been monitoring activities in the school and they are keen to report activities emanating from the school.
“The reality on the advent of technology is the new thing. We have the traditional mean of communication but the digital media is the future.” He said.
The meeting also host the presence of the school Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Oluseto Olatuyi, Mr. Daramola Abayomi, who is a Senior Information Officer of the School with others present.
