The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has charged the workforce to live up to their responsibilities by discharging their duties in consonance with the provision of Public Service Rules (PSR).
The State Coordinator made the charge to the staff of the Secretariat on Thursday during the quarterly general meeting held at the Zonal Office, Oda Road, Akure, the state capital.
Mrs. Ani said that the public is constantly beaming its searchlight on the operations of the Scheme, hence the need for the call on the staff to be up and doing.
She said that the COVID -19 has dealt decisively, and negatively too with every sector of the economy and that now that things are gradually picking up, all hands must be on deck to work assiduously like never before.
"My distinguished colleagues, we need to give kudos to the Director General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim for convincing the Federal Government through the Presidential Task Force on COVID -19 and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on the need to resume our orientation courses so that graduates who have left school upon graduation can proceed for national service".
"The Director General has done what is needed to be done and it is now left for us as responsible implementors of the NYSC policies to take the bulls by the horn and move the Scheme forward".
"In moving the Scheme forward, we should always be guided by the rules of engagement, Director General's policy thrust and core values of the noble Scheme. You are expected to anchor your ethics on efficient service delivery so that our image will continue to soar higher".
The Ondo State NYSC boss admonished the staff to carry out all their assignments diligently and be dedicated so that the emoluments they are receiving will bring them rest of mind.
Mrs. Ani while appreciating the Field Officers for working under noticeable challenges encouraged them to keep proper records of their corps members and treat them like their siblings.
"I want to admonish the generality of staff to engage constructively on the things that will help us to achieve all round results, and not to engage in any untoward activities that may affect the image of the Scheme negatively as well as our individual names".
"It is my earnest prayers that we shall continue to work as a team to build on the successes recorded so far. We should be seen as men and women of proven integrity who are doing the right thing at all times".
"While I want to let you know that you are all important and a key success indicator to the overall attainment of our aims and objectives, I want to appeal to you to use your influence to assist the Scheme overcome some of the challenges we are facing especially at the orientation camp".
"Whatever you can do to attract sponsors for our various infrastructural and developmental projects going on at the camp will not go unappreciated. Government alone cannot solve the challenges of all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies, hence the need for this clarion call" she said.
The State Coordinator promised to look critically at all the Branches and Units requirements presented to the management and do the needs assessment to know the ones crying for priority attention.
